Get involved

BayPA is what the community makes it. Here's how you can shape it.

Whether you've got 30 minutes to share insights or you want to host a hundred people at your office, there's a way to contribute that fits your time and bandwidth.

Four ways to contribute

Pick what fits your time and interest

Everyone contributes differently. Some people speak. Some host. Some help behind the scenes. All of it matters.

Option 01
Speak at an event
Share what you're working on with peers. We're always looking for practitioners willing to talk about real problems and real solutions.
Option 02
Host an event
If your company has space for 75 to 150 people in the evening, you can host a BayPA Signature event. Hosts get visibility with the community.
Option 03
Volunteer
Help with programming, event logistics, communications, or partnerships. Most volunteers commit one to five hours a month.
Option 04
Sponsor a Showcase
Vendors building for people analytics teams can sponsor a Showcase event to demo their product to practitioners in a focused setting.
Speaking

Share what you're working on

Our best events are the ones where practitioners share specific stories about real work. You don't need to have all the answers. You just need to have something useful to say about a problem you've been working on.

Hosting

Host a BayPA event at your office

Hosting is one of the most direct ways to support the community. You provide the space and basic logistics. We handle everything else: programming, RSVPs, communications, and event-day coordination.

What we need
  • Space for 75 to 150 people on a weekday evening
  • AV setup for speakers (mic, projector, screen)
  • Basic food and drink (we can help coordinate)
  • Building access from 5:30 to 9:00pm
What you get
  • Visibility with the people analytics community
  • A chance to introduce your work and team
  • Recognition in event materials and communications
  • The goodwill of helping run a free community program
One important note on what hosting is not: Hosts are partners in space, not in programming. We don't accept hosting in exchange for product placement, speaker slots for company sales teams, or attendee lead capture. The Showcase program exists for those types of partnerships.

Volunteering

Help run the community

BayPA is run entirely by volunteers. We're always looking for practitioners who want to be more involved in shaping programming, supporting events, or growing the community.

Where we can use help

Programming
Help shape themes, source speakers, and review pitches for upcoming events.
Event Day
Check-in, AV support, photography, and helping the event run smoothly.
Communications
Newsletter writing, social media, event recaps, and member updates.
Partnerships
Outreach to universities, host companies, and potential Showcase sponsors.
Community
Welcoming new members, gathering feedback, and helping members find their fit.
Operations
Behind-the-scenes work that keeps the organization running smoothly.
Time commitment: Most volunteers contribute one to five hours a month. Some less, some more. You set what's sustainable for you.

Sponsorship

Sponsor a BayPA Showcase

If your company builds tools for people analytics teams, Showcase is the right way to engage with our community. It's a focused setting where practitioners come specifically to see what's new, and where your team gets meaningful conversations instead of badge scans.
